Good day Mdiemer, unfortunately for some reason that option to change the resolution under settings / display is not there. I need to manually change it from the settings or something.

Thank you for your assistance.

Does your monitor have settings that you can adjust manually, that is, right on the monitor itself? Like, some buttons on the side you can press to access various features?

Good day Mdiemer and others.

Please note that the option to set the display resolution under Settings/Display is not there. It is an old laptop with only an Intel on-board graphics card. Thus the reason why I am asking for a way to change the resolution either via the terminal or if that does not work via the config file (whatever that file is called and where it is located in Zorin) Please notethat Im using it on a Dell laptop

Many thanks...

Good day Swarfendor437

Thank you for your assistance. I tried reading the article you suggested and unfortunately it did not help me. The resolution is stuck at 1280 x 1024 as you can see - below

[code]geckofp@GECKO-ZORIN-1:~$ xrandr -q
xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default
Screen 0: minimum 1280 x 1024, current 1280 x 1024, maximum 1280 x 1024
default connected 1280x1024+0+0 0mm x 0mm
1280x1024 77.00*[code/]
geckofp@GECKO-ZORIN-1:~$

Thanks

Hi, my bad - should have asked for specs in the first place - Notebook/Desktop? Graphics Card Model?

Hi Swarfendor437.

It is a Dell D610 Notebook. It has a Cenrtino 1.66GHZ processor with an Intel GMA 945 onboard graphics. With 2GB or RAM and a 40GB hard drive. It seems to be a Ubuntu 16.04 issue as well as I also tired a live distro of ChaletOS (Also based on Ubuntu 16.04) and the same error occured that I mentioned in the beginning of this post.

Thanks again...

Hi, I suspect like an old Dell 600 I play around with it is not PAE compatible. I would give SolydX a try (Community 32-bit stable edition) - see my review here:
