yes and no it gives me a idea and a lead but i cant seem to find the download it just tells me how to work it not even sure if it may already be instaled and how to find that this is my first time using linix so im still lost i just got this notebook

OK, if you haven't installed Synaptic Package Manager, do so now from the Software Centre then look for 'fingerprint authentication' - it should bring you back:

i guess im really not getting it i suppose it may be the terms i dont understand like packages and package builds im used to finding the download i need and downloading it.and the drivers and software was fairly idiot proof but i feel as dumb as a beginner using this linix i did find the Synaptic Package Manager but not the fingerprint software

Hi, change your Software Manager settings from the server for your country to 'Main Server' - you should then find your package/s! ;) :D

now iv really done it found the place you directed me to and attempted to down load the packages and it sounded like parts of the packages were missing and now i cant seem to touch the software manager without the same error message popping up iv tried to go to restart and attempted to repair package but with no success please help before i f*** up my hard drive beyond repair

so far it looks like the last 2 links will be of help but i need to find out how to reboot my fujitsu t 580 back the factory specks first so i can get rid of this problem i got myself into it has jacked up my package manager o the point its useless and i can figure out how to fix it

ok now were getting some were i got my package manager fixed and the libprint and pam downloaded now just to figure out how to install them

great news you have got me this far i now have uget installed and how to make the fprint and pamprint down loads ussable id be forever in your graces

i got the problem that trying to download a driver caused but i have yet to figure out how to get the finger print reader to work
