I have Zorin OS12, 64bit installed on an Acer Aspire 5335, 4Gb, Intel 2.Ghz, 640Gb HD.
I can't 'discover' any other computers on my home network. MY main comp is a homebrew with Intel core 2 quad @ 3ghz 8 Gb RAM running Win 7.
I've entered the homegroup password but get access the homegroup, I'm totally new to linux and have only just discovered how to use the terminal with apt-get etc, I'd appreciate any help I can get. I'm 68 and so everything is totally new to me. I worked in IT for nearly 45 yrs and the only programming I did was with Pascal, Cobol 87 etc.

Hi you will need to install Samba (CIFS) and you may also need to add rules to firewall. At work at moment so can't help further for now.

Ahh work! I wish I was still working! You're lucky, I'm stuck in hunting for stuff to repair or build.
Thanks for the reply. I'll have to search for the means to exact the info you've given me. Thanks. :)
