Problem to install or try the Zorin OS 12.1 [i915] issue

I have a Dell OptiPlex 5040 (i7, 16 GB RAM, Intel Graphics) and I would like to install Zorin OS 12.1.

Booting from a usb stick I got stuck on the wallpaper screen. Pressing ctrl+alt+F1, appears the following errors:

Zorin OS 12.1 zorin tty1

zorin login: [ 162.795880] [drm:intel_dp_link_training_clock_recovery [i915] *ERROR* too many full retries, give up]
[ 163.003395] [drm:intel_dp_link_training_clock_recovery [i915] *ERROR* failed to train DP, aborting].

I installed Ubuntu 16.10 without problems at this machine but I would love to install Zorin OS.

Anyone can help me?

Hard to say - one of the problems of having an intel graphics chipset with a Skylake Processor I'm afraid - it appears to be an issue with Red Hat/Fedora too:

Looks like you may have to wait for the next intermediate release of the LTS Zorin12 with newer kernel?

Swarfendor437 thanks for the answer. I will wait until Zorin get a new Kernel version.
