There are some commercial GNU/Linux AV packages but I would stick with Clamav. You also need to enable the built-in firewall.

I should have been clearer on last post - the firewall GUFW is in your Zorin install but needs to be turned on. The only setting you need to make is your location, i.e., Home/Office etc

Recently came across this on Youtube, might explain a few things for you. It is by Joe Collins and he seems a reputable and knowledgeable Linux guy. From memory Clam doesn't run all the time like many Windows AV's and you may want to install a GUI as by default I think it is a terminal command thing.

Clam AV has GUI clam tk. Unlike Windows I would argue it does not need to run all the time. You will get a warning that the interface is out of date but it can be ignored. When you search synaptic for clam you should see all packages and mark them for installation. Your biggest threat will be unpacking 3rd party tar balls. I copied a guide on how to check contents of tarballs courtesy of Blackwood following a member of ueoz forum had his drive wiped after downloading a 'tbeme' from gnome-look.org called 'ubundows'. On extracting without checking his entire drive had been wiped clean.

[UPDATE: You should also have either rkhunter or chrootkit to check for root kits. That is the one item that affects all platforms. The weakest link in any OS is Flash and the most vulnerable piece of software on any platform. When I get home from Holiday I will upload screens hots of Clam AV GUI]
