I am having a Problem updating. This is the Message I get. "The installation could have failed because of an error in the corresponding software package or it was cancelled in an unfriendly way. You have to repair this before you can install or remove any further software."

I do not know how to make the Repair. Any Help is appreciated.

It sounds like you may have some broken packages - try the graphical method which might be easier for you to do.

1. Make sure you have a solid internet connection.

2. Launch 'Sotware Updater' (Menu | System Tools | Administration) and click on the 'Settings' button - be sure that your software sources are set to 'Main Server'

3. Close the Software Updater and launch Synaptic Package Manager (Menu | System Tools | Administration) - you will be asked for your login password to elevate you to 'Root'.
Go to 'Edit' on the Menu and select 'fix broken packages' from the list that appears.

Keep us posted. :D
