Hi

I can set to localize in Japansese on Zorin OS7 by following url.
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1699&p=5927#p5927

Of course menu is in Japanese, but it is only the left side. the right side of menu is just in English.
the right side menu means the home folder, my computer, control panel, music and videos etc.

How do I set to localize the right side of menu in Japanese on Zorin OS7.
I got to localize the right side of menu in Japanese on Zorin OS6 :D

Hi,

open System Settings > Hardware > keyboard > Layout Settings > Formats and select "Japanese" and restart your PC, also make sure that "Layouts" also shows Japanese.

Let us know if this helps.

Hi, and Welcome from me also! Go to Menu | System Tools | System Settings and then find Region and Language but check 'Locale' and copy them in last tab. Delete all languages apart from Japanese on first tab by clicking on '-' (minus sign) at bottom. Sorry can't post screenshot as on Windows 7 Starter as I write this.
If this still does not work it will be because GnoMenu never got a Japanese translation.

Hi hatochan,

see the language guide too:

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1699&p=5927#p5927

This part about "localepurge" should interest you:

"If you are having problems with language on your PC; install the package "localepurge" to rid your PC of all unwanted language packages!!. Select which packages you wish to keep during the installation of the package (localepurge), you need to make sure that all the different packages for the same language are marked!!. (A good example is French as there is Swiss French; Belgium French and French!)".

Let us know if it helps.

But the right side of menu is still in English.

Next I delete English in language support as follows.

But the right side of menu is still in English.

I guess that the right side of menu is not translate in Japanese.
i will translate it in Japanese, then which file will I translate in Japanese.
Finally where will I send this Japanese translated file?

Hi hatochan,

Kon'nichiwa, dono yō ni anata wa

I honestly don't know where you would send the file to??.

Did you run "localepuge" to rid your PC of all English packages?, have you checked in Synaptic package manager to see if there are still any English language packages there?.

Did you check the keyboard layout and "Format" settings?.

If your language still doesn't change; you need to open: > System Settings > Hardware > Keyboard > Layout Settings > Formats and select your language from the list and restart your PC:

Hope it helps.
