[CLOSED] No connections

cursivearmy67

Wed Nov 22, 2017 10:38:19 pm

I recently installed Zorin as a standalone OS on my new build but have not been able to get any internet connections. I've tried many solutions but have not been successful with any. My lasted attempt which was adding drivers through Windows Wireless Drivers has now made my connections no longer visible and i have been unsuccessful in getting them to return even after removing drivers. Results of commands are as follows.

dale@dale-Inspire:~$ ifconfig -a

Just for clarity is this Zorin 9? ifconfig -a will not return results in Zorin 12.

Thank you tried that to no avail. I'm trying to update my kernel from 4.10 to 4.14 but it is difficult with no internet connection. After i do make config and start make i get an openssl error and it will not install, and even after i update the openssl i get the same error. I would love to run Zorin as a solo operating system but if i cant figure this out today, it looks like i will have to get windows 10 while its on sale for black friday.

Also these may be cheaper than Windows 10:

Wait what.. you can use win 10 for free you just cant "customize" it.

I thought the free upgrade had ended unless you have a disability? ;)

Inactivated windows has just couple drawbacks.
-cant change or customize dark colour scheme
-cant change background image from personalization option ( right clicking image and click use as background works though)
-watermark in the right corner of background that says this windows is inactivated
-you'll just get the critical updates

My virtualised windows 10 works perfectly like activated even though its inactivated.
