Zorin OS 12.2 Lite Freezes frequently

Hi,
I am using Zorin OS 12.2 Lite. Installed it yesterday. I am experiencing occasional freezes of the OS, especially when I am browsing the internet and playing videos on youtube. I tried the key combiantion of Alt+SysRq and REISUB to restart when the OS stopped responding but was unsuccessful in that. Had to manually reset my laptop. I have a brand new laptop that runs on Intel Core i3 2 Ghz cpu and 4 GBs or RAM. Please look into this and see that the issue is corrected.

It could be a video driver issue. You might try switching driver to, for example Nvidia (or whatever your video make is); or if you have already done so, switching it back the the Noveau drivers. I have found that for my machine, they work better.

When you installed, was your system on these, or did you switch to these, using the Additional Drivers utility? In either case, you might run that utility and select the Nouveau drivers. The down side is that (some say) you might not have as good performance on games. It's not an issue with me as I only play solitaire and mahjong. but I would try that, it has worked for me. Which of course doesn't mean it will work for you, every system is different. But you cam always switch back if no improvement, or if it makes things worse.

Hello, I just installed Zorin Lite OS and updated that. Didn't install anything using the Additional Drivers Utility.

It would appear that freezing also affects Windows users too!
