Hi

I have an old Sony Vaio VGC-V617G all-in-one PC, with Nvidia GeForce FX Go5700 Video. Finally managed to get the nvidia driver installed (Google). But I just can't get my screen resolution higher than 1024x768. I spent several hours Google can't seems to find the solution. my monitor can handle 1280x768 resolution. P/S. I am new to Linux enviroment. Please help. Thank you.

* tried different version of Nvidia driver 340 - 384. Currently using version 387.

Hi, Press the left shift key at boot time to get GRUB showing. Then press E key to edit the boot command and add 'nomodeset' to see if you get a better resolution - no guarantees! ;)
