How do I make the cursor larger

I have pretty poor eyesight (Macular degeneration). I need a larger cursor. I know how to do that in other Linux distros but have not yet found the place where to change it in Zorin. Please help a semi blind man.

Update - changed to dmz-black mouse using Tweak-Tool (this is Advanced Settings in 6 - gnome-tweak needs installing to change cursor theme without searching through dconf-editor (I now see why KDE is gaining ground over Gnome! - if LXF Magazine is correct!). What you will find is that the cursor is still small in desktop use (annoyingly) but large in Application use:

Now this second one was to prove my point - what is bizarre is I saw a small miniscule white mouse hoivering over my openshot video but the screenshot shows it big - go figure! Yet another Gnome3 Glitch! I am going to clear the decks, but Windows 8.1 on start of drive 2 (if I can) then Ultimate Edition 3.6 or 3.7 KDE and see how its accessibility fairs with the mouse!

You don't really need to do the part about Xresources, just install dconf-editor and make changes.

sadly it only works for certain apps, why it doesn't work globally is beyond me, sorry!.

Hi Wolfman, I get the feeling it is a Gnome3 error - nothing to do with Zorin - and having to wade through dconf-tools (I don't use it that often) is like trailing through a Windows Registry! )

have you installed the package "gtk2-engines" if it isn't already installed which will give you a high contrast theme which you can change with the tweak tool.

I know it doesn't help much with the cursor problem, but it is a step in the right direction with your poor eyesight.

You can also change the text scaling factor to something that suits you better:

At present I don't have a working copy of Zorin as I was running out of time to install Windows 8.1 - I need to back this up before 'playing' once more by having Zorin 8 RC alongside Windows 8.1!

I have the high contrast skin, works well. And thanks for the video. I have to study that.

Nah, I did not study it in detail yet. Looks too involved. I wish there was an easy way like in Mint or Windows. For a basic setting like that I hate to jump thru too many hoops - especially if I am not familiar with them.
