Hi,

what are the specs of your PC including graphics card and memory?.

Are you talking about internet streams or hard video copies on your drive?.

And it happens with .vob files mainly, after about 45 seconds into playing the file. The video stops and then shows error. I have tried several current players and several different video files with no change. Thanks for helping!

Hi,

have you fully updated your system?

Open a terminal and paste the following command and restart your PC:

Code:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

What media players have you tried?, have you installed VLC?.

Hello wolfman. thanks for helping. i have used VLC and several others. they all do the same thing. I am new to this linux thing. It is trial and error for me. I got tired of windows and this is what i chose to try and learn. I am not sure how to "open a terminal". Thanks for any and all help. I am convinced I am going to convert to linux 100% when i get it figured out enough. Its awesome so far, just gotta work the bugs out!

Hi,

you will find the terminal under accessories in the main menu or simply press "Ctrl + Alt + t" to open a terminal.

To update, you can also use Synaptic software manager, see also the update guide:
