XWindows not starting after installing some openCL-libraries

I reinstalled ZorinOS15.2 but now, here is no sound drivers or something. Earlier ZorinOS15.0&15.1 case
I still had sound.

Someone else on here had similar issues and resolved the sound issue after installing audacity.
You might want to look at a very old post about different codecs too that Wolfman posted:

This didn't bring the sound back...
Is it choosing "virtual audio driver" (NVIDIA) that has no sound output?

Use synaptic package manager and install alsa-base packages - in fact anything that has ALSA in the name in synaptic. Then try the last solution given here:

It looks like you have a hybrid sound system. The nvidia I suspect will relate to the display port for external monitor. I had to blacklist my Intel HDMI on-board port and the nvidia graphics hdmi port to get my Soundblaster recognised but I also had to install ALSA. I have been having to boot twice to get the sound up until recent kernel update and now I have sound all the time on every boot instead of alternate boot.

Then I try next tip:
Add this follow lines to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
options snd-hda-intel model=generic
options snd-hda-intel dmic_detect=0

And I get some sound:

But it seems in case of the HDMI, the "Front Right" speaker is not operating.

Still the microphone is not operating:



But after booting 2nd time there is once again no sound, not even the dummy output:

Had soundblaster issues on new install on different drive of FerenOS x64-bit. Resolved adding Alsa, all codecs I could think of and an important element - Gnome Alsa Mixer - Audigy was unticked but when I ticked it a gentle 'boom' through the speakers meant I had sound - if you have Intel showing in the same place and check it see if your sound appears:

Can you please install Gnome Alsa Mixer, launch it and take a screenshot of that please, not the systray panel of Zorin. Thanks.

What ever I try there is no sound at all.

Just found this on Phoronix:

Which suggests that you might have to go back to Zorin 12.4 as the kernel out of the box with Zorin 15 was 4.15 I believe as the base kernel. If this is a computer I would try and get a PCIe soundcard or go for an external sound card if notebook, one that is supported with the latest kernels.

It was failure of the Linux kernel to pickup my onboard sound that made me purchase Soundblaster Audigy RX 5.1 sound card, which I have managed to fix to play on both Zorin and Feren.

I got the sound back after the latest update:


But here is no HDMI output available and also the microphone is not working at all.
