How does one link an avatar

I am usually not lost navigating on forums. But here you must have been hiding things really well.

I am trying to put an avatar picture into my profile. But how is that done. It would make it easier to id my own posts.

Hi,

click on the button "User Control Panel" > Profile > Edit Avatar at the top of this page on the right.

Tried that, but it does not work. I had the right 90x90 size.

Does the picture have to be on my system when I browse or uploaded to e.g. Image Shack

Hi,

it can only use Jpeg, don't try using PNG cos it won't work and it can not be larger than 6Kb in size.

It was a struggle. I also had a problem with the size. 600KB is really too little. Look at my avatar. It is puny.

Hi whs - mine is 90 x 90 and 6 Kb (Not 600!) and mine is quite large!

You are right. I did not see the comma. Mine ended up 5.88. I guess it depends how busy the picture is. That determines the number of bytes. Your's has a lot of white areas that are compressed. But at least I have an avatar now. It is my Zorin desktop.
