file hierarchy and programs

I like the idea that Zorin OS has. But I have two suggestions. The first one is to offer a version of Zorin that has a file hierarchy of GoboLinux. I think their file hierarchy is a lot better in terms of maintaining a cleaner system but beyond that they don't have many positives as their gui is fairly outdated. I think having a wrapper program would solve any compatibility problems.

The second suggestion is to offer users the ability to have all non core programs listed in one giant list like it is in windows 7 with the option to search right in the start menu. I find myself looking for applications in different menus and if the application did not even create the exact name of the menu it is just missing.
