How to create a USB rescue disk

This topic does not seem to turn up in a search here. I was told it's a good idea to make a rescue disk but can only find how-to's for other distros via web search. Can anyone point me to a "How To" written for Zorin 15.2?

Hi, I've only ever come across usb creators on other distributions. Separate from this are things like System Rescue CD: https://www.system-rescue-cd.org/
Ultimate Boot CD: http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/
Rescatux - (but I never had any success with it): https://www.supergrubdisk.org/rescatux/

The best way to protect yourself is to use something like Rescuezilla - this is the new name for redobackup, even though you will still see 'redobackup' after creating the .iso from the files - if you don't know how to do this I can PM you the link to the one I created. Basically you need an external hard drive - the bigger the better. I usually go for 2 Tb drives. Generally I just backup the /home folder so that I keep my data and include all hidden files by ensuring that all files starting with a period are shown and just drag across to a folder created on external drive. If you want a complete system backup, that is where rescuezilla comes in - it backs up your entire system and to restore you just launch it and choose the option you want. It also helps to do a manual partition before installing, that way if the root file system ('/') goes west, that is all you need to reinstall (apart from setting up email again and printers), as your '/home' partition setup separately will remain intact. ;) :D

Swarfendor437, thanks very much for your reply about the rescue disk/stick. I think I can take it from there most of the way. Fetching the redobackup iso now and will burn it onto an empty 16GB stick with balenaEtcher. My 1TB external drive is tied up, so I'll try backing up to Google Drive. There's actually a prompt for that when you go into Disks to resize the /home partition, which I need to do asap. Anyway, I am grateful to you, not to mention the invisible crew of Irishpersons who make and support the wonderful Zorin OS. May all be able to hoist a pint soon with friends!

I haven't touched any alcohol for about 6 years now and I wasn't a regular drinker then - no wine, no beer, no spirits, no shorts (no I'm not a pervert!)

Ironic, as I'm actually on the wagon since starting treatment for rheumatoid arthritis in May. Anyway, my intention was simply to wish you well and imminent release from lockdown. Meanwhile I'm sure my questions will keep coming, ha ha!

She may consider avoiding it. Consuming grains have been shown to increase inflammation. It is only by chance that I was reading a journal article on it in pubmed a week or so ago.
