Is Zorin 6.2 Lite truly an LTS?

I know they claim that zorin os lite 6.2 is a long term support system, however I have reason to believe that is not true. From what I read, it is based on Lubuntu 12.04.2, however on the official Lubuntu website, they claim that Lubuntu 12.04 is not an LTS, it will only be supported for 18 months. Lubuntu does not currently have an LTS. Does that apply to Zorin as well?

Please look at this page to learn more about what I am saying: http://www.lubuntu.net/blog/lubuntu-1204-now-available

Lubuntu 12.04 is an LTS as regards the support for the packages, kernel and updates it will be getting (since it is based on ubuntu 12.04).
Only the graphical environment (desktop) of Lubuntu (lubuntu-desktop) is not LTS but has (as you said) support for 18 months.

ok, I guess. Is there any reason it uses the 3.2 kernel? At least when booting from the live disk, Zorin OS 6 lite uses 3.2, maybe after installing and running updates that changes, I dont know.

3.2 is the official LTS kernel. The other kernels (i.e. 3.5 and 3.8) are the kernels of 12.10 and 13.04 respectively which are not LTS kernels so they will have 9 months support. So if you want support till 2017 kernel-wise, you must stick with 3.2.

alright, I guess it really is an LTS then. I am thinking of installing it on an old iMac that I dont use as often. It has Mint 15 xfce, but it is not lts and I dont want to mess with upgrading, so maybe I will give this a try.

Nice thought. I have installed lubuntu 12.04 on two old machines I have and it runs great.
