New member just joined wanted to say hi, it does look a little bit like a one man show, at the moment but i'm sure this will change once zorin 5 goes live. I've been using Linux about 18months on/off and still consider my newbie mainly due to not harnessing the power of the command line but synaptic i'm fine with and the software centre is awesome. my wife isn't a fan of Linux and she had begrudgingly been using ubuntu/mint/elementary/pclinuxos but now that I've found you guys I'm hoping the learning curve will be non-existant as it is so similar for her as at work its windows and everything was at home as she keeps reminding me.

wish me luck lol

I am a recovering Windows user (n00bie) and I have been using MicroCRAP since the DOS days. For the past 10 years, I have been trying various distros for laughs and giggles. Up until now I felt that Linux was impractical for everyday use. This attitude changed when I tried Linux Mint (about a month ago) then I found out about Zorin on Distrowatch. I absolutely love Zorin OS and I cannot wait till 5 is released. I will be purchasing ultimate as soon as it is available!

Learning the terminal is not that hard! Since Zorin is based on Ubuntu, I have found their forums to be most useful. Additionally, Zorin 4 runs sweet with the latest stable kernel (2.6.39). At the time of this writing, Codeweavers has their crossover packages on sale so I got both the Impersonator and games for running most of my windows software. Since it runs my favourite windows apps, I decided to delete my windows partition and use linux exclusively... I am learning new things daily and Linux so far has exceeded my expectations. Some of the tasks required to get things done are not as easy as windows, but there is a sense of reward when you solve the problem and get things working the way you want them.

For now Zorin is a great OS for me to learn on... Who knows where Linux will take me... All I can say is I have fallen in love with my computer again... No more fracking viruses, faster load times, no crashing, minimum resources, compiz eye candy and AWESOME support for Ubuntu on the web.
