I have thunderbird mail installed on my pc to download from my yahoo mail account, but when i went to check for new messages using thunderbird it wanted to download previous ones too, over 2000 of them. How can i stop this from happening.

I would have thought it would depend on your mail client settings and when you delete them - if you have just installed Zorin say and you install Thunderbird it will pull down all your existing messages if you have not deleted any.
