Security re: Antivirus/Malware etc

Hi all,

Very new to Linux. I have Zorin 10. I have read various forums online re: Linux not needing security ( anti-virus). Id just like some feedback on this , as I do have many Windows files I need to import and will continue to do so as part of my job. To my understanding it is the modem firewall and computer firewall settings that are more important that the anti-virus. Last part of this question is when on Windows I used a key-stroke encryption program. Is this viable or needed in Zorin?

Hi Aaryn, for the most part you are correct, however if you are intending sending files to other people or receiving files from other people that use Windows you want to make sure that you are not passing on an infected file to a windows user or potentially corrupting a Virtual Machine inside of Zorin.

as for encryption, you can encrypt your '/home' folder AFTER installation:
