With all the Intel shenanigans of late, I have just run 'Software Updater' and expanded the information on the latest kernel header, then looked at the CVE information associated with it in the technical description window:
I then followed various links in the chain:
https://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.c ... -2017-5754
then:
https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2017-5754
then most curiously:
https://usn.ubuntu.com/usn/usn-3525-1/
What is of interest here is that the advisory dated 10th January 2018 is in relation to a no longer supported release of Ubuntu, 12.04 whose 'life' ended in April last year! Curiouser and Curiouser!
