I'd say it wasn't a problem unless you are the sort of muppet that leaves the default password as 'admin' or whatever. In which case you really deserve all the grief you get :)

In simple form...don't be the chump..... caught with their pants down.
Make darn sure the routers [ firmware ] is updated.
Laziness can cost someone dearly for not taking 10 minutes to do the needed security updates.

Hi, I know about minimum character length - it would be nice though if router's had some sort of 'upgrade' notification. I discovered mine needed one after reading 'El Reg' article - which I have now done. What is a bit farcical is that the recommended minimum length of password to make a connection is 24 - yet the admin account password is limited to 16! :lol:
