The usual newbie questions

- haven't been able to get any of sound apps/clones to recognize my ipad or iphone

ZorinOS 11 - https://sourceforge.net/projects/zorin-os/files/11/ - by this I mean you can access all your folders on your iPad, not just DCIM like in Windows!

- absolutely cannot get any of the workarounds to play netflix...chrome, etc.. have read a ton of stuff, and tried what seems like every possibility but it still keeps asking for Silverlight..other people seem to have no prob

Do you mean to buy tunes or just a music collection? Rhythmbox that comes with Zorin is very good, but my personal favourite is Clementine, not least due to the great visual effects provide by the Mproject plugin.

- I try and follow the instructions for installing .deb downloads, but they never seem to actually work
