Help: Install from USB

I'm having trouble installing Zorin onto my new pc I built today.

I've used netbootin and an iso of Zorin from the official website, I've managed to get to a screen where it lets me start booting it ; after that is just becomes a blank, black screen.

What I'm doing:

Hit f12
select boot first device : usb zip.
UNetbootin blue screen comes up, I've tried default and a few other options. All either end in a black screen or have lots of white text.

Any help?

Hi,

do you have the option to select boot in safe vesa mode, if you do, try that first!!.

Try reading this, it may help:

http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/

http://ubuntuguide.net/create-bootable- ... unetbootin

Already used unetbootin, moved on to LiLi.

Only option with safe in it is boot live with safe graphics, which just goes onto black screen with white text. "timeout of 180 seconds reached, worker 105 unexpectedly returned with status 0x0100.

Tried two different versions, the latest in 64bit and the "Lite" in 32 bit, no luck with either.

Hi,

can you create a CD/DVD and try installing that way??.

If you burn a CD, burn it at the slowest possible speed!!.

I don't have any to hand, the earliest time I could get one would be next week, hence the attempt to usb install it now.

maybe the linux PLOP-bootmanager helps. USB-booting problems with older BIOS or USB-HDD are often resolved this way.

Ok, so I managed to install Ubuntu, which I hate.

Is there a way to get Zorin on here without usb or a disk?

Can you take out your drive and go to a friend and use their PC, take out their drive and replace it with yours and then install Zorin that way!!. (Don't forget to put your friends drive back in afterwards  )

Did that, Zorin came up from the boot menu. Black gray screen for a second, then black with white text, this is when trying to install from the boot menu. Didn't do a thing, just kept spewing out text, most of it looping about a usb mouse attached. Ended with failed while handling.

Edit: Also, my ubuntu only works when ran in safe recovery mode, if that's any help.
