Hello.
I' ve installed Zorin OS 5.2 on a fujitsu scenic p300 x100 PC with a Fujitsu D1740 Motherboard (see specs below).
The emp202 audio from Empia was not detected during installation.
I've searched on zorin and ubuntu foruns but there isn't any reference to this audio system.
Can someone give a hand?

Best regards

Albertino

Hi,

install the packages "libsox-fmt-all" and "paman", Paman is the Pulse Audio Manager which is better in my opion, you need to open pulse audio after reboot and check the settings, input and hardware throughly!!.

And/also, run the command:

sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

in a terminal, if there are any missing dependencies, this should install them!.

Run lspci

The common result seems to be that zorin can't find the sound board even if it appears on the logs.

Any help please

Hello
Thanks for your help. I've to wait to Monday until then I'm away from the pc. Definitely go for your acpi=off suggestion and try uninstall the modem as someone suggests there could a conflict between the modem and the soundcard.
However I'm a bit confused here. The motherboard documentation mentions empia but as you can see above, the diagnostics log refer:
00:1f.5 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corporation 82801DB/DBL/DBM (ICH4/ICH4-L/ICH4-M) AC'97 Audio Controller (rev 01), Vendor ID/Device 8086:24c5 and that corresponds to alsa driver intel8x0 as seen in: http://www.calel.org/pci-devices/alsa-d ... html#Intel.
So it suggests that the soundchip is supported.
I've checked the linux-drivers resource and it mentions 82801AA and IHC4, I guess the meaning is: supported since 82801AA
Any more ideas?

Best Regards

Albertino
