When I first installed Z6 I had the problem of not being able to see the grub screen.
I just pressed enter after a few seconds and waited for Zorin to boot. Then I opened a
console and did the following
gksu gedit /etc/default/grub
That brings up the grub config txt file in the gedit editor.
Then I just changed this line by removing the #
#GRUB_GFXMODE=640x480
Then I saved the file and entered this to update grub
sudo update-grub
When I next booted up all was well and the grub screen was visible.
I use a 42" VIZIO monitor and perhaps that was an odd monitor that the install
had trouble setting a proper mode for. All that was visible was a message saying
cannot display. I though I'd post this in case someone else has the same problem
seeing the grub screen
