reinstall the zorin boot record

Hai I am a realy a new comer as compared to my knowledge in zorin & ubuntu

Earlier I used Ubuntu and unity interface make me difficult to adjust.. even though I use that wonerful os and in the time of error I hav to left behind the linux as I hav to format the system. and I didnt let it down I hav many times installed every time when a change in the partition table the linux installation got effected and doesnot boot into the system. Then I use the windows to correct the boot reord.


My main question is that whether there is any way to install partialy without lose of files I wish to update the installation with a new new installation.

But in windows I can repair the installlation by using j

first of all I would like to thank the zorin developers for the nice looking desktop

I have tried ubuntu and linux os multi boot with windows.. but after a change in the partition table or windows installation the linux os goes out of order and need to reinstall every time. each time after the installation i find that the my downloaded and installed programes and data are lost. This problem keeps me away from the linux. I love the linux based OSs but I need a expert in linux. but windows I feel much simpler to operate and install. in windows I can easily reinstall without losing the installed programmes and data. It detect and repair the existing installation everything goes fine.. as earlier. why this facility is not included (??) in zorin installation. I find zorin installtion is same as ubuntu installation...

I would like see the following changes in the installation...
It should detect the existing installation and repair without losing data
It should be customized installation as what apps are to be installed



I'm not an expert in linux because the above problems I have lost many GB of data from my computer even though I love the OS and I would like to get more trained about the linux and zorin. Please tell me whether there is any solution for my problems..
