Zorin 6.1 64bit in VirtualBox 4.2.6 on W7 64bit host

I'm not sure if this is a more of a problem with VirtualBox or Zorin, but this is what I see:

I left the version the way VB picked it; but later on, I also tried setting the version to Ubuntu 64.

Installing the guest additions showed this:
"The headers for the current running kernel were not found."

But things seemed to work.

I tried to update things:

...or if you want to skip to:
"The application Update Manager has closed unexpectedly."
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... fKM#t=207s

I started over several times selecting different options. I skipped installing the guest additions and Update Manager still "closed unexpectedly".

I'm just looking at Zorin via VB. It is not really critical that I get this updated.

I hope this info helps the project.

If it matters, the host is an i5-3320M @ 2.6GHz and 4GB RAM. All of the VT stuff is turned on in BIOS.

edit: it takes 3 clicks on the "start orb" to get the menu to come up after restarting the Zorin OS. And that is after I've used one click highlight something on the desktop. It is not a matter of the OS being busy and it does not matter how long one waits between these 3 clicks. However, one right-click on the "start orb" works as expected... even if that right-click is the first click after a restart.

Gonna try Zorin OS6.1 32 bit in a VB VM next.

edit2: the Zorin OS6.1 32 bit will not update either. It crashes like the 64bit OS. It does not matter if one selects Keep or Replace. Again, this might all be VB's problems, but I thought that I would post here first.

I'll leave this to a mod or support person, but this sounds (ahem *looks*) like a problem with VB.

Open synaptic via a terminal or just search in the Windows Menu and select 'Mark All Upgrades' then click on 'Apply' - might help, might not. (I am still wanting to know how to make myself a member of the USB users group! - isn't Gnome3 great - Not!) :D

It will update via that tool, but does not always reboot afterwards.

I'll just play with the base install for now.
