Install on windows 8 machine

Hi
Got my new Asus N56VZ today with Windows 8 installed. I want to dual boot with Linux and thought I'd try Zorin.
I have made a dvd and a USB and I have tried to manipulate the bios boot options. Still the damn thing loads right into Win8.
I searched the web and now I'm stuck. Don't know enough about tech but really want to be free from windows...

I'm willing to sacrifice my licenced windows install if I can't dual boot win8 and need to delete it in order to get some kind of linux distro running.

Did you get Recovery Disks along with the Computer.
Dual Booting is an accident waiting to happen.
You can have one or the other.

Make sure you have a complete Backup on a external drive or have the recovery disk handy before proceeding !!!
