I have just got the Zorin os free version to see if I like it. Well, hell yes, it is very fast and responsive. But linux done properly should be.
I have a small problem with hdmi video displaying on my external monitor. This works in Linux Fedora 16 and winslush..
I have 4 machines with this one tied to a KVM for mouse keyboard and monitor. The external monitor is a new 27" LG.
System with Zorin:
Sony Vaio aw-310J with a 18" creen and full size keyboar
memory 6 g
cpu: Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU T6500 @ 2.10GHz × 2
OS: 64-bit
disk size: 1 terabyte , new seagate
grphics card nvidia 9600

Other machines are asus mobo, on custom built frames.

If this is ccrippled and allowed in pay version I need to know, as I am almost ready o get hat, but I do need to be able
to view on my external monitor.

Appreciate any help, or advise on this problem. I am a Software developer of windslush Linux Unix and Apple over thirty years now.
thank you.

Ups, just fixed this, I had installed nvidia drivers from settings, bad idea. removed them all works great now. Ready to buy full package.

I have noticed something new.
1 The nvidia control dialog does not execute and become visible to the user.
2. The system now crashes during work, mostly in task bar switching or window getting focus from a current window.
this causes a HARD THREE FINGER REBOOT.

Any ideas.

I did a boot startup test, used a stop watch, booted system from button turn on to ready to, with logon, in approx. 64 sec.
not bad.
