Hello, good evening.

I wonder how to install Zorin OS on my Acer C7 Chromebook ($199, 320GB HDD Model).

I bought it about 4 months ago, and I'm not really good with these stuffs, such as chromebook, Ubuntu and other Linux OS.

However, I want to learn these things because it is cheap and some of them are free.

Could you help me?

For a disk install:

Burn the disk at the slowest possible speed:

Do you want to do a USB install?:

I hope that you now have enough to go on!.

Your reply wasn't helpful for me. Which means, It doesn't work for my Acer C7 chromebook. If this laptop is just like the other laptops, I could install my self. BUT IT ISN'T.

I really thank you that you tried to help me.

The Chrome Book is different than Windoze but the install is very similar. I know at first all this new Linux language can be overwhelming, just keep working with it and it well start to make sense.

I think the most important thing is understanding how to partition the hhd. You can have up to 4 primary partitions, one of these can be a "extended" partition. The "extended" partition can have additional "logical" partitions. You can control the size of each partition, the location on the drive and the file format type.

A livecd of Gparted or Partition Wizard allows you to boot up to the partitioning program and arrange the hhd as you like. You can shrink existing partitions and then create new partitions from this new space. Before you shrink a partition I would run defrag a couple of times to insure the files are grouped together .

You can install as many versions, or distro's of Linux as you have room for, I have 5 distro's along with Vista on my old lap top.

The c7 has a bios that only allows chrome to boot. There is a way to install crUbuntu by going into developer mode. It is over my head and not well developed. It seems there is no way yet to install Zorin that I have seen.
Chrome is not really an operating system.

Just found this (Zorin 6 is based on Ubuntu 12.04) - can't view it as getting freezes in a different OS! :D
