starting exe. executable files

hey..im brand new here and brand new to zorin....but i LOVE it!!!
i just put zorin 8 in my laptop, and i ran into the simplest problem, but i just cant figure it out..
normally in windows, if i download an exe file, then open it, it installs the file....
but here when i open it, instead of installing the file, it just opens up the insides of the exe parts, inside the archiver..
and for the life of me, i cant figure out what to hit to get it to install........feeling stupid here in virginia....

Hi, are you using Core and is 'WINE' installed? (PlayOnLinux, Wine, Winetricks)? Basically you have to right-click the '.exe' and select properties. Then go to the 'Permissions' tab and check mark 'Allow to run as a program' (sorry if wording is incorrect!)

it just opens up the insides of the exe parts, inside the archiver..

that's the default option ..
- try right click on it & left on 'open with .. other app .. CX / wine

try installing Cx .. the commercial version of wine:
