Hello,
So I've encountered an issue when installing Zorin 8.1 alongside Windows 8.1. This is my first time messing with bootloaders and venturing outside of Windows so I apologize in advance for my ignorance. I looked around many of the other Windows 8 problem posts on this forum and most suggested to go back into the live USB and run Boot Repair. I wanted to check up here if this is the course I should take as well - I just don't want to mess anything up too much.
Here's what I did:
1. Download Zorin 8.1
2. Download UnetBootin and create a live USB
4. Partitioned my Hard Drive
5. Booted to USB, right into install, selected "Something else", used 239 GB for Zorin as the journaling 4 type, made it be "/", used about 7 GB for swap area, and 1 GB for the boot. Install carried through and that was that. Here's what the disk looks like after install: http://puu.sh/7GqIp.png
6. According to this URL: http://apcmag.com/how-to-dual-boot-wind ... -linux.htm , I used EasyBCD as directed and made a new boot option, named it Zorin, selected "Grub 2" and got the same directory as the pictures in the file for the boot path.
7. Restart, see Zorin and Windows 8.1 as boot options, select Zorin
8. Error: http://i.imgur.com/mfyt9pP.jpeg
I'm running on an Asus s400ac laptop.
What am I doing wrong?
Thank you in advance for your help.
