hardrive

i just got zorin ultimate
it detects the hardrive in live mode i can see files.
when running installer it does not see the hardrive
what am i doing wrong?

Hi,

did you boot in safe mode or normal mode or did you go directly to the install option.

Try booting in normal mode first, then if that doesn't work, safe mode, then direct install.

Did you burn the CD at max speed, if you did, you will get errors most likely, always burn at slowest speed!!.

using the whole hardrive.
in live-mode it see the hardrive when i click on computer icon.also in qparted
when i start installer it does not show hard-drive.
i have tried regular,safe,direct installer modes

it does not show up in list of hardrives in installer to create any partitions

have done muptiple burns.
it is a puzzler.
it is a four year old gateway laptop.i would expect issues from a newer computer.
i thought i would safe with a four yead old computer

found the issue solid state drives.
ran the installer on another computer with both solid state and regular hardrives.
it only detected the regular hardrive.
the laptop has a solid state drive
the only part that now confuses me now. in live mode in gparted it detects the solid state drive
but not in the installer.

The only suggestion I can think of is to try another version of Linux to see if that also has problems with the HDD!!.

it is a larger ssd 128gb
installed elive that worked ok.
maybe it is a amd chipset problem
guess i have to wait for the next edition

switched to hybrid hardrive zorin installed fine
tried 3 other distros worked fine with ssd hardrive
