I tried installing Zorin os 8 as well as 7 from dvd and usb on a HP Compaq NX7010 laptop but it freezes as soon as I hit enter no matter what option I choose.
What should I do ?

Hi,
have you tried pressing tab (above left shift lock) and then typing "nomodeset acpi=off" and then pressing enter to start?.
Have you tried it using the 2nd option in the menu?.
What are the specs of your PC?.

I can only change the selection by pressing tab
The specs are 1.5 ghz 1mb on l2 1gb ram ssdram, 40gb hdd

I've tried the lite version but again no luck it freezes before it starts regardless of the option I choose.I'd've loved to have it, but there we go, it's an old laptop anyway.
