Partitioning to separate user documents

Hi all, I'm starting to try and install Zorin 8 in several computers, and I was wondering if you can reserve a partition for user data, with the expectation that they are separated in order to do a system recovery without deleting them. The computer will only have Zorin.

I would also like to know, that when using some system to generate an image recovery Zorin. I have found that MondoRescue can be a good option, but maybe someone use another simpler.

Excuse my bad English.

Thanks in advance and receive a warm greeting.

Hi,

yes you can set a partition for user data, you just need to set the corect mount for it when installing.

Here is a guide about partiti9oning:

The mount point for user data would something like: /user but I cannot remember offhand.

Hi Wolfman,

thank you very much for your quick response.

I will study the documents and I'll try to return my conclusions in a mini-howto for the forum.

Best regards.
