Help needed with IBM ThinkPad T40

Zorin 8.1 will not install to this PC, It stalls at start install directly. So I did some searching and found that I needed a different OS then 8. What can you recommend to install.

Hi Nancy,

try the Lite version of Zorin, I think the normal version might be too heavy for that model Thinkpad:

Is this your model and does it only have 256MB RAM?:

Zorin OS Lite version 8 is only supported until June 2014, the next version (Zorin OS Lite version 9) will have 5 years of support and you can simply install the newer version over the older one by following this guide:

You could try Zorin 8 Lite first to see if it will run - if you have difficulties then I would try this alternative, LXLE (http://lxle.net) - support 'til April 2017.
