My laptop has AMD Athlon 64 TF20 CPU from the days of Vista.
It has a 160GB HDD
RAM=2GB.

My needs:
* Web browsing - Chrome is alreay bundled
* Thunderbird email - bundled
* LibreOffice - bundled
* ownCloud desktop client or LAMP server to be installed additionally.

As I am no gamer, my needs are simple as I only do basic tasks on the computer.

Which version of Zorin 8.1 should I download and install?

Or should I rather use 6 LTS?

Hi,

I would go for a 32 bit version of Zorin 8 but I do wish to point out that it is only supported until June 2014.

You can replace it very easily with Zorin 9 (LTS version based on Ubuntu 14.04) when it comes out and stil save all your data by following this guide:

Thanks, Wolfman, :D this also addresses my concerns regarding upgrading. I habitually carry a copy of /home on an external hard drive plus another on a flash stick.
