Hi,

try running this update command and restart, then run the same command as the last one MV posted:

Code:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade -f

It might just be a case of missing dependencies?. :D

I suppose we need to install the ralink driver.
I have found the one I believe is appropriate for your card, I have downloaded it, I have made all the necessary alterations to the files needed, compressed it again and uploaded it on to my dropbox for you to get.

The link is: https://www.dropbox.com/s/6fy5lrx13unoz ... 022.tar.gz

The file "DPO_RT5572_LinuxSTA_2.6.1.3_20121022.tar.gz" will be downloaded into your Dowloads folder.
Find it, right click it and select "extract here". A folder named DPO_RT5572_LinuxSTA_2.6.1.3_20121022 will be created.

Unplug your usb wireless card (if it is a usb).
Then open terminal and run the following 3 commands, the one after the other, pressing <enter> after each one:

cd /home/$USER/Downloads/DPO_RT5572_LinuxSTA_2.6.1.3_20121022
sudo make
sudo make install

Plug the usb wireless card, wait for 5-10 seconds and then check if you can see wireless networks. A reboot may be needed.

At least now I see the module. I suppose your wireless in not on yet.

What about if you run

sudo modprobe -r rt2800usb
sudo modprobe rt2870sta

If the above will not work either, try:

sudo modprobe -r rt2870sta
sudo modprobe rt5370sta

So it can only find module rt2800usb ...

Just a thought, lets add it at startup and then reboot...

echo 'rt2800usb' | sudo tee -a /etc/modules

Then reboot, see if you got wireless working, and in any case post back the result of:

lsmod | grep rt
