Double-checking source Skype install for V8 Lite

I'm sorry if I'm duplicating a previous post here, but I'm having problems installing Skype. I'd like to be 101% certain I'm starting out right. I've searched for "skype install" but still not been totally sure what to do.

Please, what is the correct version, and site to download from, for Skype for Zorin 8 Lite?

Many thanks

Hi, firstly Zorin 8 is now end of life - you should be using Zorin 9 RC or wait until the Final release is out - Zorin 6 is supported to April 2017.

To install Skype open a terminal (Menu | Accessories | Terminal) and enter:

Code:
sudo apt-get install skype

You will be asked for your login password - you will not see any asterisks - it remains blank so be careful!

Then when it states it has found the necessary packages you will be asked if you want to go ahead - press 'y'

OK, thank you, I'll do that. And I'll give Zorin 6 a go.

Many thanks

Just to add, when Zorin 9 comes out, that too will be 5 years LTS - April 2019! :D

I really though I'd posted a thank-you for this but somehow it didn't appear - so: Thank you for this! Very useful that you pointed out about 6/8/9.
Cheers
Andy
