Downloaded HPLIP 3.14.6

Follwing instruction went all a way to ENTER ROOT/SUPERUSER PASSWORD

Entered my password, and I get Password incorrect mesage.

did it two times.

Any suggestions?

I was able to get one step closer:

It changed superuser password

Hi, if you enter the password incorrectly 3 times it will fail (from a terminal). An HP6L is quite an old printer - is it networked or directly connected?

I always find this the best way to start any printer installation.

1. Open a terminal.

2. enter:

system-config-printer

- and take it from there!

Printer is connected to the pc by USB-Parralel adapter

Maybe - how to test if it is even connected, maybe Great Wall USB-Parallel adapter is not working?

Hi, It could be the problem - I have searched on the net and found people having similar issues with older HP printers and Epson printers that require such a connection - but no solutions. Can you purge the HP Lip package you installed and instead install the package from 'synaptic package manager' - I have assumed in this instance you have been to the HP site as you said you downloaded it. The Adwaita issue appears to be a theme issue and if this is on Zorin9 it could be a bug but I am sure there were some similar css errors in Zorin8 too - might be worth posting in the Zorin 9 RC feedback thread here:
