Pointer Device

I installed pointer device from the software center but it will not open. I get something like "Program Device Error"
I uninstalled and reinstalled a few times. Did a several restarts.
I just installed Zorin. Running on an old Sony (>10 yrs)
processor 2.9ghz
hard drive 250 gigs
2 gigs of ram
Any suggestions would be helpful

Hi I should point out that Zorin 8 reached end of life yesterday - like its Ubuntu 13.10 counterpart on which it was based - 9 is out now - responding from 9 Ultimate.

Thank you for your quick reply.
Are you saying 9 Ultimate will resolve my problem?
Basically all I am trying to do is get some control over the the scroll wheel so that I can adjust the number of lines with each click.
Also now that I have 8 Ultimate running what would be the process to upgrade to 9 Ultimate?

HI, First I would advise you download 9 Core to see if it works - if you purchased Zorin 8 Ultimate recently then contact AZorin or zorink by PM and ask if you can get a free upgrade or reduced cost at very least!
