Install problem

I have tried everything under the sun I can think of. I can boot into the live system just fine and perform the install, however when I try to boot straight into the installer I get a black screen and nothing happens. I have tried running it in forced VESA mode and turning ACPI off but still nothing. Anyone have a work around or know of any other parameters to pass to the kernel on boot?

Also how does one set the root password?

Also whether dual-boot?

You mention root password - so is it installed now?
