Possible to boot from a HD connected through USB

Still having problems on my other thread but I had a thought...

I have a new Vantec IDE/SATA TO 2.0 USB Adapter. It lets you connect a regular hard drive for use as extra storage through a UBS port.I remember how fast Zorin was in a VM so I cannot imagine running through a USB could be that much slower. Is there any way to install Zorin on my hard drive to make it boot and run through this USB adapter? That would be really sweet.

I suppose if there is a way to install it on a USB drive to boot off of, there should be a way to make this work. Your thoughts?
