Win. 7 Zorin 8 Lite install problem

retread

Tue Jul 29, 2014 5:48:42 pm

I am trying to install Zorin 8 Lite alongside Windoze 7 on a Compaq( H.P.) laptop and find Wimdoze has used all 4 disk partitions.
Is there an easy solution?

Also on my desktop computer with Win. XP Zorin 8 lite will only run Live System in the Safe Graphics mode.
Regular Live System boots up to a blue screen with a z and locks.
When installed in the hard drive the boot screen has half of the screen on each side and the edges in the center.
Select Zorin and it locks upon the blue screen.
I think i may be in over my head, I need a nerdy 10 year old. :P
Thanks, Bill

Hi retread and welcome to Zorin! :D

OK, Compaq = HP - they tend to follow the same path - No boot partition (view photos, music web without bootinig?), System Partition, Restore Partition, Recovery disc creation partition - all 4 are marked as Primary - that is why it won't install on XP. You will have to delete at least one of those partitions after a backup.

Zorin 8 Lite is now end-of-life like the version of Lubuntu it was built off. You should patiently wait for Zorin 9 Lite! :D
