Zorin alongside Win 8

How can I install Zorin alongside windows 8. I downloaded the iso image, checked it to make sure it was a good image and then burned it on a DVD. I also installed it on a microSD card with the USB installer. Then I changed the boot order and selected CD/DVD rom as first and USB chip as the second but still when i restart the computer it goes directly to win 8. How do I make it boot from the CD or SD card? How can I check that the images installed are bootble?

I am new to linux so any help will be appreciated.
