[SOLVED]Zorin OS9 Ultimate problem

Well the DVD arrived today and I'm having trouble installing it. It works fine as a Live CD (I'm using it to write this) but when I try to install it stops at the end of copying the files with a message about cleaning the DVD drive (done but it's only 3 weeks old anyway) or burning the DVD at a slower rate.

I then get this message.

If I click on close then nothing happens, it just hangs :(

Since you can boot into the live environment, do the following:

1) Connect to the internet either via ethernet cable (prefferably) or via wireless if that's possible.
2) Open terminal and do the updates of the system before starting the installation.

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

3) Then start the installation of Zorin.

Just tried that and it hung at the same place. I'm thinking it's the DVD

Can you use a program like image burn to extract the iso from the dvd and then write it on a new dvd or usb?
Or even download the ultimate iso from the zorin site?

In case this works, then it must have been the dvd I suppose.

Wouldn't extracting the ISO just copy the error?

Anyway, the helpdesk have given me a download link to get the ISO from the main site so I'll do that overnight tonight (10 hour download on our rubbish BT so called broadband)* and give that a go :)

*the reason I bought the DVD rather than downloading in the first place doh!

Maybe the iso was ok but the DVD was scratched (that was my idea)... :P

In any case, good luck with the download. Don't forget to check the md5sum.

I thought I'd give it a go and this was the result:

Of well, I should be ok after I download.

I've marked this solved. Managed to download the ISO using (nearly) all my wifes 4G allowance and everything went fine :)
