File not found

I have downloaded the Zorin Core OS 9 - 32 bit version, burned the ISO to DVD ( twice now) and opened the programme to try it on my current XP Pro machine. I get an opening screen offering "Try ..."., "Install", etc but on clicking on either of these buttons I get a message - "/casper/vmlinuz:file not found".

Any help please?

Windows XP Pro SP3
Intel Pentium 4 3.2GHz
2 Gb RAM
WD Sata 500Gb HDD
Sony DVD RW

Hi, and welcome to Zorin! Are you sure you did not copy the .iso to DVD instead of Burning to it? (I have done this myself in the past! :oops: ). Did you check the md5sum of the iso after you downloaded it?:

I only ever use imgburn if using Windows to burn iso's and at the lowest speed your burner will allow. (http://www.imgburn.com) - only use their mirror - nobody elses! :D

Thanks for your comments. Having seen some other comments, I re-downloaded the entire file at the slowest speed possible and then used the "Write Image" button in InfraRecorder, again setting the write speed to 2 x. This time I didn't even get the opening screen, despite sitting watching the pulsing logo for a good ten minutes. Getting slightly disillusioned. :cry:

HI, I only used infrarecorder once and I ditched it - imgburn is the best my friend! In terms of installation time it does take a lot longer than previous releases - check out my Video (Part A) - having issues with Veoh regarding uploading Part B) here:

Thanks for suggestions and I will view video later. I have used infraRecorder, CDBurner all with the same result. I have now tried installing Zorin, Ubuntu and Ubuntu Mint. None of them will run. A problem with my computer maybe but I have no idea how to check this. Just about to go out for physio so will leave disk check and defragment running while I am away.

Memo to self: Buy some new DVDs. Problem solved after checking original DVD and finding it full of errors. Now all I need to do is work out how to use Zorin. First problem is getting it to recognise my wi-fi network.

After you instal Zorin, open terminal and post back here the results of the following 3 commands:

sudo lshw -c network
sudo rfkill list all
