Zorin 9 booted fine on my Advent but hangs on my HP?

I put Zorin 9 on my old laptop yesterday via a flash drive and it worked like a charm. I am so far at least loving it. I thought I would put it on to my Ubuntu driven HP laptop today but it just seems to stick on the blue Zorin logo screen. It quietly pulses away but nothing happens. Any ideas on how I can force the loading of Zorin?

Hi,

when the boot menu shows and the top option has the highlighter on it, press the "Tab Key" and type "nomodeset" and press enter twice, see if that helps!.

I wonder which version of Ubuntu you have - I suspect it might be down to EFI if a recent version of Ubuntu installed? If it is then I am stuck!
