Which version of Ubuntu is Zorin 9 based on?

Hi guys
New to the forum!. I`m thinking of installing Zorin 9 on my laptop but as an astronomer I also want to install Kstars-bleeding which is only available for Ubuntu 14.10 and newer and wondering which version of Ubuntu Zorin 9 is based on please?

Zorin OS Core 9 is based on Ubuntu 14.04!. :D

I looked on http://pkgs.org/ and it ain't there yet!.

On Launchpad, https://code.launchpad.net/~mutlaqja/+r ... s-bleeding the version for U14.10 has a funny symbol beside it?, there is a daily build for 15.04 though.

I am not sure whether this would work on Zorin 9!.

Just to add that you mentioned the letter 'K' in that app which means you would also likely have to install KDE - Zorin is built on Gnome DE, not Konqueror DE! ;)
